I have found Peter Kennedy in the British Mariners Petitions, Trinity House Calendar 1787-1854. It states that he died in 1848. It is confirmed by stating that Margaret is his widow. Does anyone know how I would find this documentation? It says that he is in book 59 but I have no idea how to look for it.

You could make an educated guess that Peter and Margaret followed traditional naming patterns so his father would be John Kennedy
Her parents would be Adam and Margaret Caldwell

Maybe you can find their marriage
I'm also researching Kennedy's in Aryshire

DNA has helped me link to one family
I.ll see if there are any Caldwell matches among DNA sharers ..maybe your Peter is a cousin to my David b1805 old Cumnock

Not sure where you found the info. but there should be wording such as "Original data"/"Source Citation" which gives the info. to where the original data is with source no.

I match to someone who has a Caldwell b1830
Born Ary emigrated to nova Scotia with wife Jane Hunter ..so the names are coming up .
Can you tell me surnames of any of Peters children s spouses please.

Did any marry a Stevenson ? Because I found a census with John + Jane Kennedy in their Sixties with a greatgranddaughter Jean Stevenson age 18 and a great great granddaughter age 1
Could be Peters father?

Hi, sorry for a late reply. I had a break in research. I have Peter Kennedy(parents unknown at the moment) married to Margaret Hunter (parents Adam Hunter and Margaret Cuthbert). They had a daughter called Margaret Caldwell Kennedy. Does any of this sound familiar to you? If so maybe we could exchange details? I have obtained some information on Peter Kennedy now.

Sorry Ive not yet worked out how I connect to my Caldwell 4th cousins

my Kennedy ancestor was illegitimate so won't be on other trees as his father David b1805 lived with his legitimate wife *Agnes  b1815 and children

I can't find any Peter KENNEDY s in my families
I do have a Margaret Kennedy b1824 who married Robert GOulden Hunter but his father seems to be Robert grey Hunter  b1801
No Caldwell yet .
+ The DNA connection to that name is quite small .
