This is great information folks!!! Really appreciated! It's actually highlighted a discrepancy and I'm not sure what to think of it. I've got Mary Jane's birth certificate stating her father is William James Murdoch (also married in Ireland, Cullybackey), however her marriage certificate states her father is John Murdock. Interesting thing is the William James died in 1907 so should have been about at the time of her marriage. Do I have the correct birth certificate?

Any thoughts??

I'm a bit puzzled. Mary Jane Murdock was married 1880 but civil registration of births didn't start until 1864. Was she really 15 or 16 when she married?

Marriage just a few weeks later, 26 Feb 1880, at Dunluce, might be of the Ballywatt marriage witness :-\

I've got a Scottish birth certificate for 1866, but the more i look at it i think I've got the wrong one. The marriage is definitely correct, but the birth now look unlikely! Looking at the 1891 census in Govan, Glasgow i have the whole family in Govan, with a boarder John Murdock from Ireland aged 70. So, think that might suggest again, i've got the wrong birth certificate! What do you think?
