Charles Rogers baptism curiosity
« on: Monday 29 July 19 13:45 BST (UK) »
Charles Rogers seems to have been baptised twice, only I doubt it. At St Oswalds, Oswestry, first entry 11 May 1845, second entry 20 March 1845 with all other details the same. Both appear on the same image (tried to attach but not successful in reducing image enough). It's not as though the first attempt got cancelled for some reason and they then booked in at a later date. It's the reverse sequence of dates that puzzles.

I can understand the out of sequence entry at the bottom of the first page as presumably the baptism happened at an outlying chapelry and was notified later.

Any thoughts anyone?

Very odd as they are  adjacent on opposite pages!

The handwriting is not the same, so I would suggest that it was a clerical error.
