That def is the right family.

Looking for more info on Michael & Bridget Owens and their family in Elphin.

Their life before the parents died as a result of the famine.

Did Mary have any siblings etc. ?

When did Mum & Dad pass away ?

She was listed under Moss when she came to Australia in the register of marriage, Moss are also part of my family.

How have you identified 15 year old Mary OWENS on the "Digby" 1849.........Roman Catholic.......Elphin Co. Roscommon.....read and write.......

to be the Mary Anne / Ann OWEN / MOSS who married John CAHILL 1861........twelve years after arrival  ?

How have you identified  Michael and Bridget to be parents of Mary CAHILL?

What certificates to you have for BDM events in the lives of John CAHILL...wfe Mary and their children?

That is the only reference I have to her parentage.

The rest I have on good faith alone, which is not good genealogy.

You have no certificates........?

I think it would be useful to see the marriage certificates, 1861, and 1892. They will have Mary giving information about her origins.

At the Famine website......the details about the girl on the "Digby" would be accurate, but it does not say how they have identified her to be the Mary who marries John CAHILL.

The marriage certificate of 1862 has no details regarding her parentage nor death certificate.
