« on: Wednesday 14 August 19 13:31 BST (UK) »
Good Afternoon

I am hoping someone may be able to help with burial details and possibly his short life as a Minister of Peedie Kirk,

John Waugh Chalmers married to Sarah Beans 1881 Greenock, he was Minister 1893 - 1894 and died May 3rd 1895 Congregational Manse -Kirkwall.

I have tried contacting the Church via their web site but to no avail.

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Hi,
The Orkney Family History Society (https://orkneyfhs.co.uk/home.php) has transcriptions of gravestones available for members to view on its website. This one, from St Magnus Cathedral, Kirkwall, is for three Congregational ministers:

Ref: E/4/24
[Flat or fallen stone] In memory of Revd DAVID RAMSAY, for many years Minister of the Congregational Church Kirkwall, who died on 2nd Aug 1855 aged 75. Also of Rev JAMES MCNAUGHTON, 7 years Minister of the same Church, who died on the 10th Decr 1859 aged 40. This stone is erected by members of the Congregational Church of Kirkwall as a memorial of their love and esteem toward these servants of Jesus Christ. Also Rev J W CHALMERS, one year Minister of the above Church, died 3rd June 1895 aged 39 years. With Christ in Glory.
