« on: Wednesday 14 August 19 15:29 BST (UK) »
Is there any way of finding out if these two ladies'are connected to my

Humpherson ancestry.

(1)Sabina Shepherd (1840) - born in Donnington Wood

(2)Sarah Anne Blanch Shepherd (1842) - no place of birth

Your help would be  greatly  appreciated.

Sabina - born 1840 - mother's maiden name is Poppett - assuming she is the Sabina registered in Newport Registration District.

I can't readily find a registration for Sarah Anne Blanch.

Where have you found these names, and what makes you think that they might be connected to your Humpherson ancestry?

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Hi,,

Both Sabina and Sarah's parents were William and Elizabeth.

According to a tree on Ancestry they were 2 of William/Elizabeth's 11 children. Additionally Sabina married in 1860 and went on to have 13 children.

If you are an Ancestry member you could contact the tree owner to investigate further.

Hi,

It looks like these sisters married into the same family -

Sabina married Joseph Lowe in 1860 and Sarah Ann Blanche married Benjamin Lowe in 1870. I haven't looked further into this but it looks possible that Joseph and Benjamin Lowe were brothers - parents possibly being John Lowe and Keziah. Sarah seem to have had 4 children so with Sabina's 13 children you are looking at a very large tree.

bumbleB.

Thank you for your help.  I had been told by my mother  that we had a connection to the Lowes'
I am assuming since my Grandmother was Julia Humpherson, that this was so.

I have about 40 names on my Index   of  Individuals by the surname Lowe,  The earliest being
John Lowe(1799) and James Lowe (1800).

I am totally confused.  I don`t know where the connection lies.

Thanking you again.

Thank you for replying..  I am totally confused.  My Index of Individuals list at least 40 names with
the surname `Lowe`.  I was told we were connected to the Lowes through the Humphersons`, since
my Grandmother was Julia Humphersons`

If there is no connection, where does the connection lieÉ

Tall A1

Thank you for replying.  I guess the point is why do I have approx. 40 surname of Lowes`on
my Index of Individuals.  I am in doubt as to where the connection begins for me.  The earliest on the Index File is John Lowe (1799) I assumed it was on my Grandmother`s side (Humpherson), but maybe it is through my Grandfather (Leese)

Hi,

I have had a look at the records for your grandfather (Leese) to try and help you in this matter. Joseph Thomas Leese (Born 1873) married Julia Humpherson in 1896 and they seem to have had 5 children.

A generation back Thomas Lees - born c1849 (Joseph's father) married Sarah Anne Bradley in 1869 and had 10 children (including a Sabina Lees born in 1877)

Going a stage further back William Lees - born c1815 (Thomas's father) married Mary Pritchard in 1836 and had 6 children including a Sabina Lees - born 1846.

Are you aware of these details?
