Handwriting in the 1851 census - Norfolk
« on: Saturday 17 August 19 12:19 BST (UK) »
Can anyone please identify the place name in the top right hand corner of this excerpt from the 1851 census for Norfolk?
It looks like Led???ate.
But there seems to be no such place.
Thank you!

Probably a misspelt Leziate.

Many thanks. It could easily be written as Ledziate. I did not know such a place existed. It is quite feasible because she is born there and is now married and living just about 10 miles away.
I'm much obliged! :)

A vote from me for Leziate too, it's a nearby village - quite an unusual name.
