Longdon St Mary Parish Registers
« on: Tuesday 20 August 19 20:40 BST (UK) »
Apart from the Forest of Dean site, does anyone know if there are any on line sites which cover Longdon St Mary for the latter part of the 1600s and early 1700s

I'm after a baptism of a Catherine Nash and her burial as Catherine Toms/Thoms, wife of Thomas

Thanks,

Family Search and Ancestry* has

Baptism at Mitcheldean  22 January 1638

Katheryne NASHE - father John NASHE

Forest of Dean records has transcribed as Katheryne NASSE

* it's very faint on Ancestry, but think it ends 'before family'

(baptisms at Longdon - do have father as John) and start at 1643 John & Margaret.

Using the Advance Search on the Forest of Dean records : there appears to be early/later baptisms for NASH father John at Elmore.

Many thanks for that, Capetown, but I doubt if she is the Catherine I am after as she would probably have been too old.

My Catherine had an illegitimate daughter Mary in 1685 and then married Thomas Toms in 1687. I can find a birth in Longdon for a Thomas Toms in 1657 so guess that Catherine would be of a similar age or maybe younger.

Many thanks for the link. As the area seems to come under the general heading of the Forest of Dean I was looking in Gloucestershire, not Worcestershire.
