William Kemp
« on: Sunday 25 August 19 00:46 BST (UK) »
William born abt 1818 married Mary Smith (nee Richards) a Widow (born abt 1815)
on 17 July 1843 in the Parish of Sculcoates, Hull, Yorkshire.

I am trying to find information on Williams parents. His father was also William and was a Brickmaker by Occupation.

Any help would be appreciated  :)

Assuming William survived to the 1851 census and perhaps beyond, what birthplace was given for him in the census(es)?

OK - I see they were in Cottingham in 1851 by which time he was a railway pointsman.

In 1841 he may be the William Kemp, 20, brick & tile maker, at the Brick Yard in the hamlet of Dairy Coats, North Ferriby (now Dairycoates). Also there: Mary Raywell, 15; Charles Raywell 15.

Yes, thats correct.
The name Raywell has come up previously and some of the childrens names are the same but I couldnt find the connection. I am relatively new to Geneology.

Her likely death as Susan Raywell: Sep qtr 1840 Hull, aged 41.

So perhaps she was William’s mother, and the Raywell children were his half-siblings?
