Owen Thomas Prison Record
« on: Monday 26 August 19 22:24 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone, I'm just looking to see if I can find anymore information about one Owen Thomas who was sentenced to 2 months for larceny on 27th Dec 1852 at Lancaster, Manchester.

I'm just trying to check if this is a relative of mine born in 1825 in Manchester. The info i have is from one page found on a paid site - it doesnt give the name of the court or the prison.

Any help would be great, thanks everyone
Luke

The Manchester Times, 29th Dec, carries a report of the 27th Dec Quarter Sessions. But it is very general - no names/no personal details. As the Recorder said "The offences, generally speaking, were of a very ordinary nature".

Before trial at Assizes, he would have been up before magistrates.  Earlier newspapers might have a report of the offence.
