Looking for the birth and death of William R James.
In 1933 Ethel Cordelia Twohy married William R James in Plymouth, that is all the information I have on William

Ethel born on the 19th September 1882 in Stoke Damerel Plymouth daughter of Michael and Sophia Rosina Twohy.

By 1939 Ethel is a widow living with her widowed mother (who has taken on her second name Rosina) and 2 sisters Annie and Margaret. They are living at Larchmont Wildness Rd Plymouth. Ethel dies in 1946 in Plymouth.

Sorry to have so little information on William, have looked on FindMyPast and FreeBMD with little success, on freebmd there are several deaths for a William R but not in the Plymouth area. I do not subscribe to ancestry at present.

Any help would be appreciated

The probate index for the William  Richard  James I have just posted states his widow is Ethel Cordelia

Thank you Rosie,  I can now work his year of birth (approx) by his age at death,  and although his widow was living in Plymouth in 1939 her death was also reg in Newton Abbot in 1946..  Must of missed that death entry on FreeBMD, now off to look at the probate search.

Looks like he was a Cornishman from St Germans, James, William Richard. May. gro ref 1873. m quarter in St Germans. v 05c. p 34

I think you will find it is Wilderness Road in Peverell, Plymouth - (not Wildness Road).
