Robert LOGAN c.1826 Scotland

Please can you help me.

I am looking for information about my husband's great grandfather.  We know that he was born in Scotland, but have no idea as to where in Scotland. My husband wants to connect with his great grandfather's roots, so I have been trying to find the location in Scotland of his birth, but with absolutely no success !

His name was Robert Logan and his year of birth c.1826.  We THINK his wife's name might have been Ann.

Robert Logan had a number of children, one being my husband's grandmother, Jessie Logan, born c.1881 in Liverpool and she married John Henry Gray, born c.1881, also born in Liverpool.....Jesse Logan 1881, had a number of sisters, including Eva, Ada, Ellen, Lucy and my hubby's mother, Mabel.

Please can you help ?

If so , it would seem Ann(Meadows ?) was a new wife given her age and the ages of the children.

Is there any reason that this thread is on the Aberdeenshire board ?

Was his first wife Jane Forester??   Marriage 21 June 1852 St Davids Church Liverpool - Marriage online on Anc - His father is listed as William Logan (Labourer) and a witness was Alexander Logan

His birth place in 1871 shows as Galloway. This covered the two counties of Wigtownshire and Kirkcudbright.

Kay's mention, from that 1852 marriage in Liverpool, that his father showed as William, a labourer, throws up this possibility in 1841 in Scotland:

Agnes Logan 40
Robert Logan 15
Jannet Logan 18
