Wanlockhead ancestors
« on: Monday 16 September 19 16:41 BST (UK) »
Hi ALL,
Please delete if not appropriate, but I have ancestors from Wanlockhead and believe there is a book called Families of Wanlockhead by H.Gilbert Nichol which I would love to see. If anyone has a copy of this they no longer require, please would you message me.
Also, if anyone visits the Meadowfoot cemetery and would be able to take a phot of a grave for me I would be extremely grateful. Sadly I cannot travel from England due to a serious knee injury.
Thank you for your time

You could ask your public library to borrow this for you through the Inter-Library loans scheme. You might also like to check this out:

Thank you Imber,
No information the ebook link as to how much it costs after trial, or how easy it is to unsubscribe. Makes me nervous!! Will have a look at the library loan scheme.

Just checked it out on Amazon etc and it would appear to be out of print.

Imber's suggestions would be your best options.

Just been doing a bit of "googling" and it would appear that Wanlockhead have an active community council.
They are on facebook and twitter. You can also email them at  info@wanlockheadcommunitytrust.org

You never know someone in the village may have a copy of the book.

Good luck and please let us know how you get on as it is always good to get feedback.

Hope you are successful in getting a copy.

It is very annoying when these books go out of print.

Have you tried ABE Books www.abebooks.com?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

According to Find a Grave, Meadowfoot Cemetery is 100% photographed.
