Looking for the Parents and familybof George Chambers

Hi again. Having taken a rest from my Fathers family. I am now back to my Maternal Grandmothers family.
I had so much help a while back. I was unsure which County to settle on :-\as my Grandmother, Hilda Chambers, was born in Wakefield. But, her Father George Chambers born Worksop Notts, I have 1851 and death is possibly 1929.
He was a house painter. I cannot find his parents or siblings.
Interestingly, they moved about a lot, Notts, Yorkshire and Broughton Salford Lancs, where Hilda met my Grandfather Ernest Potts.
I want to go back as far as I can because my Grandmother looked quite Jewish in appearance and I know Broughton is/was a Jewish area.
George  Chambers was married to Sophia, but I have no dates. I had a John Chambers as possible Father born 1816 in Laxton?   Any help would be great. Thanks.

Presumedly you have found George and family in census records, if not, the records are free to search on FamilySearch.

From there you can look for the children's births to find Sophia's maiden surname, the GRO indexes are also free to search.

Once you have Sophia's surname you can look for a marriage and the marriage certificate should give you the name of George's father and his occupation.

There is a George Chambers who married Sophia Handley 1875 Wakefield registration district.

Her father Herbert Handley married Ann Robinson 1847 registered at Gainsboro

1851 census Herbert and Ann have a son William age 3
both William and Sophia are registered as Hendley with mothers maiden name Robinson 1848 and 1851 respectively at Glanford Brigg.

George Chambers is living with his mother Mary 1851,1861 and 1871 census she is from Nunnington Yorkshire.
