Private Harry Phelps Allen
« on: Monday 07 October 19 17:53 BST (UK) »
During a planned archaeological dig in 2016 on the western side of the village of St Julien, archaeologists discovered several sets of human remains and artefacts. There is a list of possible casualties and MOD War Detectives are looking for their families in the hope that they will be willing to provide DNA for comparison.

Private Harry Phelps Allen – Gloucestershire Regiment. Pte Allen died on 19 August 1917, aged 31 years.  He was married to Ada (nee Shaw) and they lived with their son, Alfred Edward Allen, in King’s Norton, Worcestershire. Alfred, who was born in 1914, went on to marry Gertrude May Phillips and they lived in Worcester until his death in 1980. (suspect that death should be 1960)

Allen    Alfred E- mothers maiden name Phillip - Worcester - 6c 407     - December 1938
Phillips Gertrude M - mothers maiden name    Allen - Worcester - 6c 407 - December 1938

There was a birth June 1940 of a male Allen. Worcester  6C 398 ( M J)

Gertrude May Allen born 1915  - died 1982 Worcester - 29/0789

There is a possible marriage which would fit the son of Alfred and Gertrude - Worcester - 1978  ???
