I am trying to find the birth and possible family of Thomas BUDGETT, b.c. 1816 in Clifton, Gloucestershire. He married Ann CORDY on 6 Mar 1837, in Bristol.  Many thanks

As both were born Somerset I would look for a marriage there prior to 1835.

If it is, then the mothers maiden name is Dainton/Daunton/Danton.

The BT's of the marriage do not say if either were single or widowed just that they are of the parish.

There is 1child born before they married Ann baptized 27 September 1835 , then Jane baptized 25 June 1837 at St James Bristol 3 months after they married, both have parents Thomas and Ann Budgett, father Groom

WOW !! and thank you so much everyone for all your help - it's no wonder I couldn't find them on some of the Census Returns (despite typing all the variants I could think of).  Also, Thomas on one of the Census Returns had his birthplace down as Gloucestershire - which threw me off the scent completely. I shall now go away and chew over all this brilliant info, so once again thank you all very much
