Newcastle Emlyn workhouse
« on: Saturday 12 October 19 05:48 BST (UK) »
Quite a number of years ago I had great help on this foram searching for my great grandfather William Llewellyn Jones, who has proved quite elusive. I have now found him on the 1911 census I the workhouse In Newcastle Emlyn,he is listed as inmate 45 years old and unmarried.we know he had medical connections,he is listed as a dispenser (medical). I am wondering if this information could lead me to his death date, if any records are still available for the workhouse. My grandmother lists him as deceased on her marriage certificate in 1912.
All help appreciated 😊

The only William JONES death at Newcastle in Emlyn between 1911 and 1912 is March qtr 1912 (11B / 25), however the age is 57, so quite a bit older than the 45 in the 1911 census.  :-\

I would tend to agree with that.

Have you discounted this death in Jun qtr 1919 at Neath (11a/832) William Llewellyn JONES aged 53?

Thank you Osprey, you have given me lots of information to work on.
I have my grandmothers birth certificate, which lists William Llewellyn Jones and Elizabeth a Jones as parents. Does this necessarily mean they are married, i haven't been able to find a marriage certificate?
