Edward Binder born c1631 great baddow
« on: Sunday 13 October 19 21:46 BST (UK) »
My 8x great grandfather, Samuel binder was born to Edward binder 1670 in great baddow. The only Edward binder that I could find was born 1631 great baddow to John and Mary binder.
I thought no more of it until I found a burial of an infant of John binder early 1632. Edward was the first child of John that I could find in great baddow. I’m not sure whether there were earlier children - I can’t find a marriage for John and Mary - or whether it’s edward who died and maybe I have the wrong Edward???
Added: I found no John binder baptised in great baddow but did find one baptised in 1609 in broomfield to Laurence binder senior. Laurence isn’t a name that appears for any of the descendants though.

You will probably find more information in wills. Available with a subscription on SEAX.

There's Edward Binder, of Great Baddow, yeoman, in 1684.

And several named John Binder / Bynder.

John Bynder, of Great Braxted, husbandman, 1558

John Binder of Easthorpe, yeoman, 1601

John Bynder the elder, of Hatfield Peverell, yeoman, 1628

John Binder, of Rettenden, husbandman, 1636

Rettendon is just a few miles from Great Baddow.

There's also a will of Edward Binder, of Burnham (Burnham on Crouch?), Essex, yeoman, 1652 (PCC or Prerogative Court of Canterbury)

This is available on Ancestry with a subscription.

His sons: John Binder, Edward Binder
Daughter: Dorothy Binder
Brother: Lawrence Binder
He also mentions his wife but doesn't give her name.

Brilliant. Thanks. I’ll look them up. Have ancestry and SEAX (expensive hobby 🤣)
