What is your smallest DNA match

My smallest match on my mother's side is 6cm
The paper work was already done and we've both put same spellings and birth years which show we have mutual great grandparents
George Smith b1826 and Margaret Yates

I be also found connection s to Nimrod Gardner of Bugbrooke 1756 5th ggfather one is a 5th cousin 16cm
The other a 4th cuz once removed thru his son

On my father's side I have a 12 cm.match thru my  3xgmothe Margaret love b1840 Shettleston
I put surname Muir cited as birth father of her child and Shettleston in search function and came up with this match we have built back our trees and now have a thru line

Is it worth looking at small matches with mutual names + places ?

I have a 7cm GRESTY match which may prove maiden name of a g ggmother but this name is common in Wales and Lancashire

So, do you mean what's the smallest listed match that you can actually find a link with, rather than just the smallest listed match?

I found my smallest to date (6 cMs) through Common Ancestors, otherwise I don't tend to go that low unless I have a good reason.

Mind you, any new matches for me and the accounts I manage are a bit like hens teeth at the moment (i.e. nonexistent) so perhaps I will start looking more closely at, say, 15-19 cM matches that I haven't previously identified as a match either via Common Ancestors or Shared Matches. But NOT if there's no tree - 99 times out of 100 its a waste of time!

Yes I meant smallest match you can link to
I have some small matches with a name and place list but can't match actual individuals.

If you put a more specific location to
Place it might throw up interesting matches .I had a colour code group to Cheshire but have now added extra colours for Birkenhead and Audley in Cheshire but my Jones and Roberts are very much intermingled and have a tendency to marry other Roberts and Jones  I think a specific village in Wales might find where my Roberts side came from .

I've just checked and I have a definite one at 8 cMs across 1 seg. She is a 5th cousin. Her 3rd x grt grandmother was the sister of my 3rd x grt grandmother (she signed the marriage entry). Add - I share 13cMs with her sister!

I also have a 7cM match but can't find it at the moment.

My sister has an 11cM match on our Welsh line, I'm confident with this as he matches me at 102cMs, just goes to show how random DNA can be.

I think these examples go to show that when DNA connects it does match up with paperwork

My 7cm matches match.my mother by 14cm 8cm.and 6 cm.

I have a few where she matches less thanme but not by very much

A 3rd cousin matches me by 6cm.and her by 15cm.

I have found the occasional small (6cM) match which has been really useful.

For example, I have a 6cM match in Canada, who links back to my Dearling line in Horne, Surrey in 1750! Our mutual ancestors were sisters, and we share the same set of 6x Great Grandparents. (It took us a while to work it out:-)

Found another one at 6cM. This is a 5th cousin. I had difficulty matching her initially. I had our  4x grt born in Wellington, Shropshire but Ancestry had her 4 x grt as being born in Wellington, NZ  Good old Ancestry
