Park, Paterson, Bainie

Hi,
I am hoping to push my family tree further back, and I could do with some help please.

I have Robert Park marrying Margaret Paterson in 1776 in Renfrew. I do not know their parents names, although on Ancestry their marriage has the name John Paterson, I think this may be Margaret’s father and not a witness.  I do not have a birth for either of them.

One of their children James married Agnes Bainie in 1798 Renfrew, I cannot find a birth or parents for Agnes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ancestry has only an index listing. You can get the original document at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk which should clarify where John Paterson fits in.

If the other baptism records have survived they should also be on Scotland's People.

It looks like there are two records, one for each of their parishes?

Children of ROBERT PARK/MARGARET PATERSON – baptisms Renfrew

JOHN 21/03/1779, CHRISTIAN 19/08/1779
ANNE 30/09/1781, ELISABETH 10/08/1783

There was also a ROBERT PARK & JEAN FAIRSERVICE, they had children baptised in the above period Renfrew and one birth record in Dunbarton, father Robert.

Looking at the records on SP it looks likely that Margaret was born in New or East Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire and Robert in Renfrew but spoilt for choice in both cases, the marriage records might help?

The only Agnes Bainie record I can see in Scotland is 26/03/1780 Bo'Ness, West Lothian, Parents DAVID BAINIE/ELIZABETH MILLER, although it may seem unlikely she did have brothers, John, David, James, Andrew & Matthew. Agnes was the only daughter.
