Hendersons of Aberdeen
« on: Wednesday 30 October 19 04:28 GMT (UK) »
Hello my name is Robert Henderson.I have been trying to trace my family tree on my fathers side for a couple of years now.My father said our family was originally from Aberdeen. He also said that one of my
great grandfathers (4Th or 5Th)was married to a Carruthers. The first name may have been Janet though I am not certain. For what it is worth my DNA haplogroup is I-M223 and is not common among Hendersons as a whole.I don't expect much to come from this initial post but thought it might be a good way to start.

Hello and welcome to Rootschat Robert.

The best site to search for your Aberdeenshire Hendersons is https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/

However, it might be easier to help you if you tell us where you get stuck on your Henderson line and then work back systematically rather than just looking for a random couple in Aberdeeen.

Thank you for responding.I have managed to trace back to Robert Henderson 1806 Springfield Fife married to Isabella Webstor and I believe I have found the record of their marriage. And I agree Scotland's
people is a very good site. The problem is confirming the information and connecting it with finding her parents.Another problem is memory. The conversation I had with my father was over 40 years ago.The only name other than Carruthers was the name Barbara Brown however I am not certain how or where it fits in.

What are the names/dates of the children of Robert & Isabella in order please?
Which of their children are you descended from?

Scotlandspeople is the official government site i.e. the only place you can obtain official records/certs. as opposed to transcriptions which omit a lot of info.
