My Thomas came to live in Hill near Berkeley and thats where he remained until he died.
He was ag labourer he married an Elizabeth Edmunds.

Hi my Thomas is living in Hill Berkeley on the 1841 census with his wife Elizabeth Edmunds who he married in Glos in 1831 and his then two children Caroline and Joseph.
The only link back to Hereford I have is  on the 1851 census he states his place if birth as Stoke Edith?

Yes that's him.  Are you able to do a search of the settlements records for that area and time at the GRO?
Thanks

Sorry if my last message caused confusion but that birth transcript isn't my Thomas as I believe that one can be found in census living in Hereford unlike mine.

Hence my asking for a GRO lookup for settlement certificate /record for my Thomas who resided in Hill Glos from 1830 onwards but birth County unknown.

Bishop transcripts STOKE EDITH
Thomas Green
baptism 30 March 1806 -no parents name given

Although that baptism is also indexed by them at Weston Beggard, as reported by emeltom, and that is where it happened!

Death of Thomas
Dec 1860 Thornbury 6a 115
Green, Thomas
age 55

Buried at Hill, 9  Nov 1860, Thomas Green, abode Hill, age given as 57.
Wife Elizabeth seems to have died in 1846, age 48, it appears that she was slightly older than Thomas and that might account for his (rounded) age of 40 in 1841.

Are we sure that Caroline (1834) and Joseph (1838) were the first two children?
Thomas and Elizabeth married 21 March 1831 at Hill.
A baptism, 8 May 1831, at Oldbury upon Severn, of a Joseph, parents Thomas and Elizabeth Green. . Father a Labourer. Abode Shepperdine.
Right next door to Hill, no other Green baptisms there.

A burial at Hill, 20 June 1831, Joseph Green, abode Hill, age 9 weeks.
If the same couple, interesting that the name Joseph was used for two sons.
