Calverts from Monaghan
« on: Tuesday 05 November 19 20:49 GMT (UK) »
George Calvert (1779) and his brother Edward may have come from Rockcorry, Monaghan.  Goerge emigrated to US about 1800 and then came to Canada.  I have found him in Thorold 1804, and Nelson Township, Halton County by 1806.  His second marriage was to Martha Hopkins in 1807 and they had 11 children.  I have a lot of information on him once he came to Canada.  What I am hoping is to find a connection back in Ireland or in US.
Thank you
Kathy

Thank you for this.  I don't know George's father's name, but I don't think it would be Michael.  George has a brother Edward, and George named his sons, Edward, George Jr., William, Robert, Caleb and Joseph.

I will try and follow up your tip tho'
