Ellen Elizabeth Reeves b1917 Cirencester

Hi

I am at a total loss at what happened to Ellen Elizabeth Reeves b 1917 Cirencester
Reg 51 Entry 245
I believe she was born to Lily Eliza Reeves (no named father)

I have not been able to find her on 1939 Register (she would be 21-22 years old )

Also no evidence of a marriage or a death

I have found a couple of deaths in Gloucestershire around 1960's but both ladies were far to old to be Ellen and may well have married a Reeves.

Any help to get out of this dead end - greatly appreciated.

As  it looks like her mother was unmarried could Lily have been adopted or her mother married

Added - I see from your Anc tree that her mother Lily had other children and remained unmarried - If you had the daughters birth cert you could search the 1939 Register by birth date??

I think you have cracked it..

I will pursue the line that Ellen E Reeves was raised by her Aunt and Uncle Mabel Elizabeth Reeves (Saunders) and indeed married a William H Smith in Sep 1939
