McMahons of Armagh

My great grandfather, James McMahon, was a barber and had a shop at 38 Berry Street, Belfast between 1900-1930 and appears in the street directory during those times but not in any census.
I also know his first wife, Julia brown, died when only 26, and am sure he remarried but, again, no luck.
Any advice would be very welcome

Can you please add details of when/where born/parents, when/where married, when/where Julia died?

Sometimes we do need added info. which may help?

Canada:- Callaghan, Cumming, MacPhee

James and Julia were married at St Malachy's in Belfast 22/11/85. Both were of full age. In the presence of John and Mary Gillen and WM Whelan .

Julia's maiden name was Brown/ Browne and her father was William. He was a railway examiner

James father was Edward ( he was alive at the time of the marriage) and was a labourer.

They had a son, also James, in November 1890 whilst living at 42, Divis Street

Julia died  03/11/1895 age 26, at The Mater Infirmorium Hospital of phthisis (  consumption /TB)

Her sister Lizzie Brown, of 31,McDonnell Street was in attendance

Is this the family in 1911?

This one has been married 13 years - the transcript has the wife's name as "Gavin C A" but I think it's Lavinia. In a quick look I didn't spot this family in 1901.

I think you're right as I always remember my father calling his grandfather's second wife Vinnie!

The age is wrong, though, and he's listed as not married.
