Richard Varey married Ellen Miller 1845 Ashton/Oldham

From the above couple's marriage info it looks like Richard's father was a William Varey. Does anyone know who might be his mother, please? Any dates/places/info for William & his wife would be much appreciated.

Ellen is traceable via census records from 1861 (when she is a widow) onwards and they appear to have had 4 GRO recorded children. There is a death record for a Richard Varey, 1859, Oldham, that appears to fit...but I've yet to find 1841 or 1851 census, such are the variable spellings of Varey.

Your post is confusing. You have posted in Westmorland but mention Lancashire and Yorkshire.

Where is Ellen in 1861?
What are the names of the children?
I can see a birth for Grace, 1851 in Lancaster with mmn Miller. Did she survive?

Is that your Richard whose death you mention?

Oldham Cemetery records show him to be 36 yrs address Cross Street.
Joseph Varey 50 yrs died 1870 is also in the same grave plot.
