Joseph Roussel or Rousslle S.R Look up please

Im looking for Joseph Roussel's parents.
Joseph born 1852 (no full birth date) died Aug 26 1888 (2 days after the matchbox factory fire)
Hull, Quebec, Canada.
Married about 1878 to Henriette Colin born 1860 Hull, Quebec died 1903 Sask.

Children:

Joseph 1878
Marie Louise 1880
Treffle 1881
Salomon 1887

Henriette did marry and had more children a few years later...
However i am just looking for Joseph's parents and or siblings.
Sorry if I have reposted this messages, i can not locate my messages..

Any information on this family member would be great!!!

Unfortunately, I'm afraid it is going to be pretty much impossible to find the parents of your Joseph. There are a number of baptisms for a Joseph Roussel so one would need his marriage record to get the names of his parents for comparison to the baptism records. The marriage record appears to have been lost in a fire.

Parish records were started at the church about 1870. At this point, a second set was apparently also required to be sent to the local authorities (or something similar). The church burned down in 1888 with loss of the parish records but at this point the 2nd set was safe. There was another fire in Hull in 1900 which destroyed the city hall where the second set of records was kept and these records were also lost. So there are apparently no records for the time 1870-1885 where your marriage would be found.
