Church Bank & St Peters Wallsend burials
« on: Saturday 16 November 19 18:45 GMT (UK) »
Hi, can anyone please suggest where I can look for burial records for Wallsend St Peters and Church Bank?

I'm looking for William Thompson and Sarah Thompson.

Sarah died before the 1901 census
Her last child was born and died in 1897.. I've no trace after that.

Thanks x

Tyne and Wear Archives will have both St Peter's and Church Bank records.

For Church Bank it might be easier to search at North Shields library as they have huge burial books that you can flick through by year first to find out who was buried then.  These books also give entry number - once found the full record can be looked up on microfilm.

There is a Sarah Thompson of Wallsend  on this website who has an Evening Chronicle death notice.  Might she be your ancestor?  Edition 18 March 1901.  Age 42.

Newcastle Evening Chronicle 18th March 1901

Thompson - Wallsend, 17 Clyde Street, suddenly on 16th March, aged 42 years, Sarah, dearly beloved wife of William Thompson. To be interred on Tuesday 3 o'clock. All friends kindly invited.

Inconveniently for you they don't say where she was going to be interred!

But not at St Peter's as Durham Records Online have their burial records up to 1921, and there are no result for a Sarah Thompson. So possible at Church Bank?
