Joseph Andre - Help Please

Hello,
I am trying to find information about my 2nd Great Grandfather Joseph Andre (b1857). I know the following - Married Blanche Emma Linscott in 1883 (Birkenhead) ; Had 5 children : Helen Emily Blanche Andre (b1883), Rosa May Lilian Andre (b1885), Lavinia Madge Andre (b1886), Joseph Hermann Andre (1888) and Dorothy Grace Andre (b1893). I don't think they had any other children. I know he was a Musical Director/Professor of Music.
I cannot find any census records for him although I have found the census records for his wife and children (with the exception of the 1891 Census for his wife and oldest two children). I also have no idea when he died.
If anyone can track down any census records or other documents about him, I would be most grateful.

Where do you get his birthdate from - is that from the marriage record? If so, what else does that record tell you e.g. as to his paternity and the identity of the witnesses?

I got the birth date from a website I found about him. The link is http://composers-classical-music.com/a/AndreJoseph.htm
I have confirmed all the details about his children and I knew most of their details from my grandmother, so I think the birth date this website gives may be a good start. The birthdate could be wrong though.

The only birth I found was on family search, the rest freebmd & GRO. Mother noted as Linscott .

I have not been able to find any census but I did find this, original on Family Search, however it does not tie in with the possible death date on the link you posted.

I can only find Lavinia in 1911 aged 24, mother of course died 1907. Has anyone got 1901 census ref please. Most elusive this family
