John GOODCHILD 1614?-1676 burial, probably Princes Risborough
« on: Monday 18 November 19 23:40 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I have an ancestor – the above-mentioned John GOODCHILD – whom I believe to be the son of a William GOODCHILD and his wife Margery (they baptised a child of that name on 25 September 1614), but I'm a bit concerned these aren't my John's parents, because he isn't mentioned in William's (died 1622) or Margery's (died 1647) wills while their other children are. Obviously there are a number of reasons as to why someone might be missed off a will, but one of those is that they were no longer alive.

To that end, would someone be able to check the burial records for a John GOODCHILD at some point prior to 1622? I'm hoping that none is found since I've grown rather attached to William and Margery, but we're all after the truth, even if it's not what we want to hear.

Thanks in anticipation.

Martin

Hi
 :)
No burial for John.
Only Goodchilds 1600- 1640 at Princes R. are Geoffrey 15.5.1617  infant

No John's.
Those at Gt Kimble -Margarie 1624 ,William 1630 ,Jeffrey Senior 1627,Joane senior 1626
None that could be your John.

From BucksFHS - Princes Risborough Transcripts CD.

No other details, apart from this for his burial.  I would suggest a burial search from BucksFHS, for £1 per single person search, covering 100 years.

Burial  - 8 Dec 1676. John GOODCHILD.

Baptism - 25 Sep 1614. John son of William & Margerie GOODCHILD.
Baptism - 11 Jan 1610. Jone daughter of William & Margerie GOODCHILD

Marriage - 24 Apr 1637.
      Thomas WINCH.
      Joane GOODCHILD.

Marriage - 10 Nov 1606.
             William GOODCHILD
             Margaret BLICK.
