Eliza Collyer born 1821 Philadelphia

Hi, My 2x great grandmother Eliza Collyer was born in 1821 in Philadelphia, according to her baptism record in 1837 Melbourne, Derbyshire, England.
 Her parents were Thomas Collyer ( a boot and shoe maker ) and Elizabeth Yearl. Thomas born in 1799, Elizabeth in about 1806, both were born in Melbourne, Derbyshire, England. ( from the census records ) but it seems they were in Philadelphia in 1821, when Eliza was born and on board ship back to England in 1823, when their son James was born.  (His baptism record.)
 I am hoping someone can help me find the marriage of Thomas and Elizabeth. Were they married in Philadelphia, or were they married in England?
Maybe they were married on board ship to America.

I didn't find Thomas in the 1820 census of Phila. at ancestry or familysearch. Nothing at ancestry using the two names as a married couple, not even a family tree.

I don't think there were civil records being kept in 1820 in Pennsylvania. They weren't required in most states until the late 1800s.

That leaves a church record.

They might have church records that are filmed and online, but not indexed. If a record were indexed, it probably would have shown up on the general search.

Somewhere on their site, maybe that link, they will tell you what all is available elsewhere, I think. Or try a genealogy society in Phila. I wouldn't get my hopes up though.

Thank you for your reply. I don't have an account with familysearch as yet but I will register with them and see what I can find via your links.
I knew it was probably a long shot but I thought it was worth asking, you never know.

I found them. On 8.9.1821 on a ship called Rising Sun, Thomas age 22, travelling with family, Elizabeth age 19 and 3 month old Eliza, so she was not born in Philadelphia.
I may not find anything else about them but I am SO happy to have found them thanks to you oldohiohome.
