Army Births Abroad 1946 to 1950
« on: Wednesday 20 November 19 16:42 GMT (UK) »
I found on a Microfiche under Army Births Abroad 1946 to 1950 what I believe to be a Relatives Birth in Hamburg in 1949 all it shows is Surname, Christian Name, Hamburg, 1949 and Volume number 25
We think the Father was still serving in the Forces then and the Son was born in Hamburg.
There is no Registration of the Birth on the GRO Birth Index in England and Wales so this may be why.
When I gave these details by Phone to the GRO they didn't have a clue what I was talking about.
Anyone know how I get a copy of this Army Birth in Hamburg  ?

You can apply for a birth certificate online in the normal way.

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

When you get to the "Start Application" page, choose the third option: "Outside the United Kingdom and registered by the British Forces, Consul or High Commission ",
