Mary Bishop of Gilmorton?
« on: Monday 25 November 19 20:12 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I'm trying to find out the parentage of a Mary Bishop.
She appears to baptise 2 daughters in Gilmorton with no mention of a Husband.

Elizabeth Bishop baptised 25 Dec 1796, Daughter of Mary Bishop.
Charlotte Bishop baptised 25 Dec 1799, Daughter of Mary Bishop.
Sarah Bishop baptised 28 Nov 1802, Daughter of Mary Bishop.
There are a few Mary Bishops baptised in Gilmorton in the 1760s but I feel these all have subsequent Marriages or Infant burials.

On the 3rd Dec 1802, a Mary Bishop marries a William Broughton in Gilmorton.
This Mary I think dies 1834 Gilmorton with a birth date of 1777.
The closest I could find was a Mary Bishop baptised 23 Oct 1780 in North Kilworth which is only a few miles from Gilmorton. Daughter of George and Elizabeth Bishop.

Most dubious Ancestry trees have this Mary as a Mary Sleath who marries Robert Bishop 28 Dec 1802 Gilmorton. This makes no sense. (As do most Ancestry trees and hints)

Any help appreciated.
