1939 Register Millom
« on: Friday 29 November 19 16:36 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone know if there was a problem with the 1939 register in Millom - I'm looking on FindMyPast.
People I expect to be there are not found on searches and when I look up addresses it says that no-one lived there in 1939.
Just wondered if it is a known problem, or temporary computer glitch.

I am not aware of any problems with the 1939 register.  What addresses are you looking at.

Are the people you can't find complete families or single entries.  We can't do lookups but we can always check if you are missing something.

Complete families missing.
It's a bit odd because when I search by address every single one comes up as unoccupied.
Was looking for various Jordan families.
I shall try again later tonight.
Thanks

Perhaps they moved during these years if they were a bit close to the base in Haverigg ,my great Granny lived next to it,and my Mums older sister can remember seeing the planes landing and taking off

Yes some are at Concrete Square (sounds picturesque!), others at The Hill - wrongly transcribed. Hopefully just a temporary problem with address searches on FindMyPast.
