Birth/death look up please

John Michael Naughton, parents Robert Naughton and Edith Annie Naughton (maiden surname Durbin)  Now on the freebmd site there seems to be 2 John Michaels birth entries one in dec 1936 6a see S/39 and one in Sept 1939 6a 32 both for Bristol.  First thought the first John must of died so they called the second baby born in 1939 after him.  Can find no death entry for  John, the other John died in 1972.  Also according to the 1939 census John was born in 1936.  Should mention although it does not mean much the parents married in 1938.

Any help would be appreciated.

There is a note against the 1939 entry on Free BMD stating it is a late entry, entered later than the quarter in which the event occured,  and referring it back to the 1936 entry.

The entry is duplicated.

As said, they were not married ( so regd as Durbin ) and Naughton

then Naughton was present

They married 1938 and adopted/re-regd birth


Was he a sailor? Away for birth?

Thanks Rays, Interesting triplicate.  In 1939 the father Robert Naughton was a maintenance man and his wife Edith was a Caretaken so looks like they where managing a Home or similar, address 11 Clifton Hill, Bristol.

I see that John appears twice in the 1939 Register.  It is the same one as the birth date is the same.  I'm guessing that he wasn't actually with his parents but they put him down anyway.
