Tracing where the grave is
« on: Thursday 12 December 19 16:32 GMT (UK) »
My 4x great grandfather Thomas Deaves died:
Death
Oct 1861 • Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England

I’ve contacted St chads Shrewsbury, the church where he got married but they said their detailed records don’t go back to 1861, but I’m welcome to have a walk round the graveyard looking.

Shrewsbury is about 2 hours from me , I intend on driving up to have a look and to photo his addresses .

Does anyone know if there are other records of where he may be buried?

His death certificate will give you the date of death,  plus location.  I would suggest that you obtain this information prior to possibly contacting Shropshire Archives in Shrewsbury.  The more information you have, the better.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thank you

I’m a total novice at this, where did you obtain that info?
I’ve just googled that and it brings back church of saint Mary the virgin
