Sally Betchly
« on: Saturday 14 December 19 18:35 GMT (UK) »
Hi guys!

I’m researching the Breeden family of Sussex and have problems to get further. Nicholas Breeden and Sal(Sally,Sarah) Betchly married in Balcombe in 1749. She is of the parish and the groom is of Cuckfield. When and where were they born?

There are two Sarah Betchlys in Slaugham, one in 1717 and the other one in 1718 but which one is my Sarah?

Also looking for the baptism of Nicholas Breeden, and his ancestors

Any help of a  kind soul is much appreciated  ;)

Hi Colin,

Thank you! I can only find one child Thomas born 1750 Cuckfield, died 1829 Balcombe. I think they had more children but nothing comes up for Cuckfield on Familysearch or ancestry  :(

Online  trees have Nicholas Breeden born 1722/23 Sussex son of Nicholas Breeden and Mary Weaver, but without sources

Thank you omega, Nicholas Breeden who married Sally Betchly stated that he’s from Cuckfield what not necessarily means that he was born there. So we have to find a possible baptism for Nicholas Breeden.

Are there any children for the couple Breeden/Betchly between 1749-1760 ? To find out which Sarah of Slaugham is the right one

Hi again :)

If Sarah Betchley baptised Slaugham 1718 would be the right one , her parents would have been James Betchley and Mary Stell? (not sure about her surname ) who married 1709 in Bolney, both of Slaugham.

I‘m trying to trace the couple but without luck. Betchly is not a common Surname, Can someone help me to find their baptism ?
