Lanctot

I am looking for any information on Lanctot family in Sussex.

Betty Muriel Hickson/Lanctot was born in Wiltshire,I have her in 1951 in Carshalton Surrey.I am not sure where she went from there. I have a death in Sussex 1981...Lanctot is a Canadian French name and hoping for family in Sussex

Why Sussex?

There are 4 births on FreeBMD: 2 in Surrey SW in the 1940's, and 3 in Nottingham in the late 1950's.
There are 5 Marriages (also on FreeBMD), 4 in the 1940s.
These are in Surrey Mid E, Surrey SW, Eton, and Northumberland. And one in Uckfield in 1960's.

Have you looked at Telephone Directories? Available on Ancestry.

Not naming any names, just in case some are still living.

Presumably you have her marriage to Jean Lanctot in 1942?

Married Jean Lanctot 1942 Surrey, Mid E.

Betty Muriel Lanctot Died 1981 Eastbourne East Sussex

I do not see any Lanctot children mother Hickson.

There is a record of Aliens arriving in the US at St Albans Vermont
Betty M Lanctot age 21 in 1944.

So the children may be in the US

I wonder if this is Jean Lanctot:

Jean Lanctot  34   Last address Uptons Hill, Framfield, Sussex    Chauffeur    left UK on 8/10/1951 - Country of Intended Future Permanent Residence Canada.

From Electoral rolls Jean (John) and Betty M. were in Carshalton, Surrey 1949/1950/1951.   So, did they leave Surrey 1951 for Sussex where marriage broke down??   As already stated, there does not appear to have been any children born to them.

Something must of happened to marriage in 1951.I cant find any records for children from marriage

John was orignally from Canada so may have gone back
