Hi all, is it possible to identify the regiment the soldier on the left belongs to from this photo ? Thanks.

It looks a bit like a Royal Scots badge?

Is this photo dated, or have you estimated the date by the age of the people in the photo?

Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders badge on the guy on the right,(biggest Scottish badge,) plus a Gordon Highlander's sporran, a different badge on the sergeant on the left. Same kilts, different plaids, tunics & stockings, something not right, maybe dressing up at a photographers complete with painted backdrop of Grannies Hielan Hame or just bevvied?

Thanks Skoosh, I got this photo plus a few more after an uncle passed away recently, i'm trying to find out if this is a photo of my uncle John who served with the ASH (not as sergeant) or is it my Father who served with the Royal Artillery.

@ Doch, the Argyll sporran is the "swinging six" of white tassels & a badger's heid for a sergeant I think. Could be taken at Blackpool?

Complete mismatch of regimental dress with mis-matched tartans, stockings, badges and sporrans.  The dressing up box must have been very full that day.
