Cavan - Parish Registers - CROTTY

Hi everyone,

I am researching a Crotty family who lived around Killashandra, Cavan.

I have information on the marriage of Thomas Crotty and Rose Ann Duignan, 24 Feb 1870, Killeshandra.

And their children: William 1871, Kate/Catharine 1873, John 1875, Thomas 1877 and James 1881.

But am looking for birth/baptism and burial/death for Thomas Crotty, their father and his father William Crotty.

I am also hoping to find who Thomas Crotty's mother was and names of any of his siblings.

Hi Jeaster1,
I remember the name Crotty when my family visited relatives in Killeshandra in the early 1960s.
If I remember rightly we used to buy ice creams and sweets from Crotty’s Ice Cream in Killeshandra when we were there on school holidays.
Don’t know if this helps.

parents William CROTTY and Margaret SHERIDAN of Lahard

I cannot see a baptism for Thomas or a marriage for William and Margaret

HOWEVER! editted to add

1841 census shows CROTTY family at Lahard LINK
Age for Margaret ties in with the baptism shown
Age for Thomas implies he was born c1829

A William CROTTY is shown at Lahard on the Griffiths Valuation LINK
This could be the father or son however
