The younger girl on the left is my great grandmother. Is this her later on in life?

Okay, I'll go out on a limb.  I'll say England because of the little cap and the sandals on the boy - just doesn't look North American to me.

I would agree that it was most likely taken in the U.K. The young girl and the young woman both have the same parting which tends to stay the same throughout life, so there is a high chance that it is her. She also has big eyes.

One thing that makes me think that it is UK, is that the little girl on the right looks as if her dress doesn't quite fit. As clothes rationing was in force, she might well be wearing a hand-me-down or a home made outfit. Interesting that none of the children are wearing socks.

I remember my brother being absolutely appalled to see that English boys wore shorts.  He wouldn't have been caught dead in shorts.  But that was the 1950s and he was a bit older than the boy in the photo.

Thanks all for your replies. I belive it could be my great grandmother. Born in 1897, she died in 1939. The young girl standing, was born 1930 and states on the back of the photo she is 10.  As we know ages can be slightly off, but still it's a tight squeeze and makes this photo the year she died. It makes the older women 42.

Thanks
