Difficulty in finding George's birth reg, searched on FreeBMD and the GRO site with no luck.

George S Smith born 1892 (c) Bristol, parents Thomas Taylor Smith and Emma Amelia Stuart.

Marie Stuart Taylor Smith born 1890
Joyce Stuart Smith born 1891
Emma St Claire Stuart Smith born 1893
Millie Stuart Smith born 1895
All born in Bristol.  Also no problem finding their baptisms and birth reg

Any help would be appreciated

I think Joyce is mistrancribed as Geo S in 1901 - In 1911 the family are listed with 4 children born to the family - all girls who are still alive

Yes I came across the 1901 census and looked under Geo, nothing.

In 1901 George is named as George S Smith but no mention of Joyce so you could be right that is the translation but on looking at the original it says Geo

I think Joyce S has been shortened and badly written in 1901 then someone relooked at the entry and thought it should be George S and then changed the child from a daughter to son

If it helps - as a child I used to sometimes have a problem confusing J's and G's. Maybe the enumerator had the same issue
