where was Herbert Street ?
« on: Saturday 04 January 20 14:57 GMT (UK) »
Hi,  John Street born Shopshire in 1816 married Ann Willats born 1812 in 1840 Longton Stoke-on-trent.   1841 they were living in Hanley S-O-T with Prudence Jackson and two willat boys, by 1851 they were living in Tinkers Clough Hanley with two children. Sarah born 1842( have all her details) and Herbert 12 ie born abt 1839.  Father John dies 1851  but I can find no evidence of Herbert after that. Also why wasnt he on the 1841 census?

Any extra eyes would be most welcome to find my missing Herbert.
Thanks.

Have added 1851 c detail for others looking

1851 Census
Tinkers Clough, Stoke upon Trent, Staffordshire

John Street Head   Potter Spur Maker b Madeley, Shropshire
Ann Street Wife Potter Paintress b Hanley, Staffordshire
Herbert Street Son Wheelwright Ap   b Hanley, Staffordshire
Sarah   Street Daughter Scholar bHanley, Staffordshire

I can see a birth entry for Sarah on GRO indexes and Staffordshire BMD mmn WILLETT but not for Herbert - have you found one?

Thanks for adding that info.  no I cant find anything on Herbert at all. I did wonder if he was prevoius child of Ann as he was born before they were married but then he isnt on the 1841 census either. And not to be seen after 1851,

Not finding anything for Herbert Street born c 1839 on 1841 census other than the Herbert you have mentioned here on 1841 census

Market Street, Stoke upon Trent, Staffordshire, England
Prudence   Jackson   26   Staffordshire
John   Street   24   Staffordshire
Ann   Street   29   Staffordshire
Henry   Willats   12   Staffordshire
Herbert     "               10

Herbert's surname is only dittoed - is it possible his surname should be STREET and perhaps his age was 10 mths rather than 10 yrs :-\

Just confirming that this is the same Henry Willett from 1841 census living next door to
John & Ann Street in 1851

Tinkers Clough, Stoke upon Trent, Staffordshire, England
Henry Willet      21   Potter Oven Man   Hanley, Staffordshire
Edna   Willet      20   Potter                   Hanley, Staffordshire

Is Henry Willett Ann's son?

hi yes this is the same one,  john/ann street were witnesses at their wedding. The Herbert street on the 1841 census married too in 1851  HENRY was his witness.

Dont know the connection between the boys and Ann  Either her illegitamate children or brothers ?
Ann had not been married before, Willats her maiden name  father William Willats can find no reference to the boys birth either
Thanks for looking.

Did you mean Herbert Willett from 1841 census?
Who did Herbert marry?
Do you have  him on later censuses?
