Looking for any information on the marriage record of Thomas Ditchburn and Eleanor Anderson married 11 July 1831 Whitby :-\

They married by Banns. Bachelor and spinster. Thomas was a Labourer.They both signed. The witnesses were Ralph Greenburg and Joseph Copley. They signed as witnesses on several marriages so were probaly church clerks of some sort. Unfortunately as the marriage was before 1837 the father's details are not given.

The transcription says "GREENBURY" not "GREENBURG". Not important here but in case anyone has an interest in him.

Many thanks everyone. This has helped me understand how Thomas remarried in 1844 as I could not locate a death for Eleanor  :D

Not just me then not able to find Ellen's (Eleanor) death in Freebmd or in the GRO index.
There was an Ellen GREEN died in Guisbro 1842 but she was age 22

I did find a Jane Hannah DITCHBURN died age 0 in Guisbro district 24 258 q1 1838. Her birth was in q3 1837 as female, blank DITCHBURN but with mmn ANDERSON.

The Ann DITCHBURN born q2 1839 was registered as Ann Margaret DITCHBURN.
