Looking for birth, death John Watson
« on: Thursday 09 January 20 14:40 GMT (UK) »
He was born around 1811 but do not know where. Death could be North Anston (Yorkshire). He married Phoebe Dowman in Broxholme/Saxilby Lincs in 1830.

Welcome to Rootschat

Have you found him or Phoebe on any census after the marriage?

When and where was their youngest child born?

When & where was Phoebe born?

Is this the right 1841 entry living in Anston Yorkshire ( Notts)but all shown as not born in county?

John 30
Phoebe 25
Mary 9
James 5
Rebecca 3
Robert 2
HO107/1330/1 folio 23 Page 8

1851 James & Robert are living together - no parents - birthplace for both is Brockworth Lincolnshire and living in North Anston Notts?

North Anston is Yorkshire but Ancestry have 1841 as Yorks & 1851 as Notts.  RD is Worksop

That census entry almost agrees with baptisms at Broxholme
Mary Ann 1831
Rebecca 1832
James 1835
Robert 1839

Hi Carol W,
Read your message. He is the one and you've identified the children correctly. What stumps me is John Watson's birth. Any ideas how I might get to that? The W in your name doesn't stand for Watson does it, because if it does we might be connected in the FT. John Watson is my great, great grandfather.

Think Phoebe is with the Balmforths who are living next door to James & Robert in 1851.  Indexed as Pheaby Watson widow aged 37 niece b Odder Lincs

I don't have any connection to the Watson's.

If she is a widow in 1851 - was that John's death in 1846??  If so - could be tricky proving his birthplace

1861 Phebe Watson 47 widow b Bronholme?? Notts

Pm received from Crumbs saying Phoebe died Sheffield 1857.  That Phoebe was b 1803 and can be found in Sheffield in 1851

Crumbs - can you post any info on this thread - not by pm - as it can cause problems
