I'm desperate to find the following people on the 1841 census, I put out a request about 4 months ago, but had no luck. Fingers crossed that I'm lucky this time:-
Firstly John Brown born abt. 1821 in Tugford, Shropshire. He will be single, and his father's name was William, (but not sure if he was still alive). In 1845 he married in Munslow, Shrops and in 1851 he was living in Weston, Monkhopton, Shrops. His occupation is probably that of a farmer/labourer.
Secondly John's wife, who was then called Jemimah Downes. She was born abt. 1804 in Holdgate, Shropshire, I'm not sure whether Downes is her maiden name or whether she was married previously. The marriage cert. states she was a spinster, but I have been unable to find any records of birth, and her age makes me wonder if she was in fact a widow. Her fathers name his Thomas, but I don't think she would be living with him, but you never know!
Please if anyone has time to have a look around for this couple, I would be very grateful, as I feel that the census may answer a few questions, and help me go back further.
