Looking for some help with a marriage between Daniel McLaughlin and Catherine Brogan who had the following two children in Dunfanaghy district: John in 1870 Knocknafaugher (father a labourer); and Patrick in 1872 Carrownamaddy (father a shepherd, informant Giles Brogan who looks to have died 1883 in Knocknafaugher age 90 and a widow).
From possible deaths for Daniel (1895 Creenasmear age 65 yrs married farmer) and Catherine (1918 Cashelilly age 80 widow of farmer) their YOBs could be 1830 and 1838 which may put a marriage year at c. 1855 onwards.
I’ve looked through the Irish civil records, including the new release of marriages back to 1845, but can’t find this couple. Also can’t find anything in England/Wales although there’s a marriage for Patrick McLaughlin and Catherine Brogan in 1897 in Glasgow Anderston - but that would be after Daniel McLaughlin died in 1895 in Creenasmear.
Any other ideas welcome.
