Hi there,

I wonder if anyone can help me as I'm stuck on when an old house in Hartlebury was built & using post ofice directories I've narrowed this down to after 1911 & before 1916 but would love to know the exact date & thank all who read this in advance

All the very best

Hi
You might enquire here; https://www.hartleburyhistory.com/index.html
or alternatively a letter to the current residents might get you an answer.
Interestingly Gmaps shows the road as Quarry Bank yet this picture from Streetview has a road sign saying Waresley Rd.

Might it be worth sending a letter to the  current owners? They may have deeds etc. include a SAE and your email address is case that is their preferred way to communicate.

In fact, if I found the correct place, it looks to be a B&B - so you could try emailing them.

Providing some details about your reason for the enquiry might encourage a response.

Good luck.   :)

Thanks a lot Stinton & Ruskie

Firstly The Pleck House was sold to a property developer some time ago so there are no current owners to contact & secondly yes the Pleck is in Quarry Bank & Waresley Rd is at the top of the bank but the reason I put Quarry Lane down was because that is the address given in an old street directory so I thought Id better put that down in case Quarry Bank was known as Quarry Lane some time ago but I have my doubt about that also The Pleck was never a bed & breakfast or hotel even though its plenty big enough.

Thank you both for trying to help me & I must get in touch with the history society as they owe me a favour for getting some pictures of an old Court in the village some years ago & that is the only photographic evidence there is of the place.

Doesn't sound promising if the property was sold to a developer.  :'(

I think I must've found the wrong place (off now to look for the right one).

Is this it on google maps:

If so, I think I might have got mixed up with Pleck Lodge, which appears to be next door? (which is where I got the B&B idea from):

The planning permission/s which are viewable on line (search for "Pleck House Planning" on your favourite search engine) are for development of housing units instead of sheds and workshops in the grounds, rather than redevelopment of the main house.
