Hi. Is anyone researching this family.. they were married in 1820.

Marriage was at Braddan, 26th February 1820.
Both Of This Parish; married by licence.

Of interest to me is James...b- 1825 - 1829. I have no baptism for him, but he is on the 1841 and 1851 Census.. and also in the Merchant Navy records.
Also I don't have a death for Judith  b.1823.

Judith must have died before 1841? She isn't with her parents on the 1841 census.

Father James remarried on 6th November 1858 (as a widower) to Mary Ann Carran, at Braddan.
James was a musician;father William Barr also a musician.

Slightly bad news, I'm afraid.

The Museum at the Manx Museum, which holds the IoM Archives, is closed this week.
"For Legal Purposes" - whatever that means!

The Library is normally closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday - so nothing until next Wednesday at the earliest.

the 'legal purposes' are that it holds the original deeds prior to 1911 and these are needed in land searches - at one time even during their annual closure week they still had to provide such deeds if asked for (there is fee paid if used for legal purposes)
