Jane Mountford, Shropshire.
« on: Sunday 26 January 20 20:28 GMT (UK) »
Am I on the right track? Is Jane Mountford b.1790, More, Shropshire, the Jane who married William Underhill, b.1791, a silk manufacturer, at Blackfriars, London in c.1813. If so, I would be grateful for any information. Thanks.

Suz, it did indeed take place on the date you say at More, but you omitted her mothers name which was also Jane.

Many thanks, suzard,Annette7, and ciderdrinker. Good information.
I have the aforementioned William Underhill as being the son of Thomas Underhill b. 1760 who was married to Ann Baddeley b. 1760. Thomas was baptised 3/5/1761 in Codsall, Staffs., (parents Thomas and Ann) and Ann was baptised 23/4/1760 in Ashley Staffs.(parents George and Sarah)
The marriage licence for Albrighton, Shropshire, has Thomas' occupation as clockmaker. Would your local knowledge be able to explain Thomas' transition to being a silk manufacturer in London? I believe there is a history of the silk industry in Shropshire. Cheers, everybody.
